Tenses

Tenses are 3 Types: 1. Present Tense,   2. Past Tense,   3. Future Tense
Present Tense 1. Simple Present Tense He Writes the Book
  2. Present Continuous Tense He is Writing the Book
  3. Present Perfect Tense He has written the Book
  4. Present Perfect Continues Tense He has been writing the Book for 1 month

Past Tense 1. Simple Past Tense He wrote a Book
  2. Past Continuous Tense He was writing the Book
  3. Past Perfect Tense He had written the Book
  4. Past Perfect Continues Tense He had been writing the Book for 1 month

Future  Tense 1. Simple Future Tense He will write the Book
  2. Future Continuous Tense He will be writing the Book
  3. Future Perfect Tense He will have written the Book
  4. Future Perfect Continues Tense He will have been writing the Book

Rules of the Tenses:

Types of Tense Syntax
1. Simple Present   
                                        He / She / It / Rama eats.
I / You / We / They eat.

Syntax: Subject + Verb I form + Object
I Form: the base form of the verb or the plain infinitive.
2. Present Continuous 
                                        He / She / It / Rama is eating.
I am eating.
You / We / They are eating.

Syntax: Sub+HelpingVerb(is/am/are)+verb+ing+obj
3. Present Perfect           
                                        He / She / It / Rama has eaten.
I / You / We / They have eaten.

Syntax: Sub+has/have+verb III form+obj
III Form: past participle form of the verb.
4. Present Perfect Continuous               
                                        He / She / It / Rama has been eating.
I / You / We / They have been eating.

Syntax: Sub+have/has+been+Verb+ing+obj
5. Simple Past       
                                        He / She / It / Rama ate.
I / You / We / They ate.

Syntax: Subject + Verb II form + Object
II Form: Verb 2 or the past tense form of the verb.
6. Past Continuous     
                                        He / She / It / Rama / I was eating.
You / We / They were eating.

Syntax: Sub+HelpingVerb(was/were)+verb+ing+obj
7. Past Perfect                 
                                        He / She / It / Rama /I /You /We /They had eaten.

Syntax: Sub + had + verb III form + obj
8. Past perfect Continuous     
                                        He/She/It/Rama/I/You/We/They had been loving.

Syntax: Sub + had + been + ing + obj
9. Simple Future             
                                          He/She/It/Rama/I/You/We/They will take.

Syntax: Subject +will/shall+ Verb I-form + obj
Form: will / shall + the base form of the verb(V1)
10. Future Continuous           
                                        He/She/It/Rama/I/You/We/They will be taking.

Syntax: Sub+ will/shall + be +verb + ing + obj
11. Future Perfect     
                                          He/She/It/Rama/I/You/We/They will have loved.

Sytax: Sub+ will/shall+have+verbIIIform+obj
12. Future Perfect Continuous
                                        He/She/It/Rama/I/You/We/They will have been loving.

Syntax: Sub+ will/shall + have+ been+ verb+ ing+ obj

Singular Verb & Plural Verb in Simple Present Tense:

Note: add “s” with the verb
Syntax: Subject (He/She/It) + Verb(s) I / You / We / They + Plural Verb

Rama eats
Sita eats I eat
Children like to play always.

‘Be’ Forms in continuous tense:

Subject Present Continuous Past Continuous Future Continuous
He / She / It is was will be
I am was will be
You / We / They are were will be

Note: will be / shall be / would be / should be
