Common search techniques in google (Search in social media):

if u want more perfect search results use symbols or words while searching.

Remind the following Two Rules:

1.Google Search usually ignores punctuation that is not part of a search operator.

2.Do not put spaces between the symbol or word and your search term. 

The best Example:***
Right search: see if u want to search the site:nytimes.com it will work,

wrong search: if u search site: nytimes.com it won’t work. because space given after column.

Common search techniques in google and Search in social media:
Symbol - Description:

1) @ Symbol for social media search: 
Ex: @twitter

Note: Put @ in front of a word to search social media. Don't give space after @ symbol. 

2) $ Symbol for price searching
Ex: camera $400

Note: Put $ in front of a number
to search the price. Don't give space after $ symbol. 

3) # Symbol for Search hashtags
Ex: #throwbackthursday

Note: Put # in front of a word to search the hash strings. Don't give space after # symbol. 

4) - Symbol for Exclude words from your search
Ex: jaguar speed -car

Note: Put - in front of a word you want to leave out. Don't give space after - symbol. 

5) " " (Two Double quotes) are Search for an exact match
Ex: "tallest building"

Note: Put a word or phrase inside the quotes. Don't give space after first double quote and before second Double quote. 

6) .. (Two Dots) are Search for within a range of numbers
Ex: camera $50..$100

Note: Put .. between two numbers. Don't give space after and before two dots.  

7) : (Column) is Search for a specific site
Ex 1 site:youtube.com 
Ex:2 site:.gov

Note: Put "site:" in front of a site or domain. Don't give space after and before column. 

7.1) related: is Search for related sites
Ex: related:time.com

Put "related:" in front of a known web address. Don't give space after and before column. 

7.3) cache: is See Google’s cached version of a site. 
Ex: cache:time.com

Put "cache:" in front of the site address. Don't give space after and before column. 

8) OR for Combine searches
Ex: marathon OR race.

Note: Put "OR" between each search query. To give the spaces after and before OR.
